Anticipation is a very important element for creating a page-turning story. A sense of anticipation is pretty much all about expectation because the readers are expecting something to happen.

Here are some easy settings to help form anticipation:

1. A war is about to begin. The readers know, but the villain and the Main Character (MC) don’t know

2. The MC has encountered a powerful enemy. A helper is on the way. The readers know, but the MC doesn’t know.

3. A superior character has been helping the MC secretly. Readers know, but the MC doesn’t know.

4. The villain has been punished because of the MC. Readers know, but the MC doesn’t know.

5. The MC has gained recognition from a superior character and the people around. The readers know, but the MC doesn’t know.
